What should I pack for my trip?

Last Updated on September 17, 2026 by अनुपम श्रीवास्तव

Tell us the trip length, expected climate, who is travelling and what you plan to do. You will get a shorter packing list that changes with your trip instead of a giant list of everything someone might pack.

Build your packing list

Choose only the things that change what you need to pack. This version does not use live weather, so select the climate you expect for the trip.

Trip basics

How does this packing list stay shorter?

The tool starts with a small core list, then adds only the modules that match your climate, children, activities, luggage and camera choice.

It does not add beach, hiking, business, wildlife or camera items unless you select them.

How are clothing quantities decided?

Clothes use a packing cycle based on trip length and laundry access. Carry-on and backpack trips use a tighter cycle so a long trip does not automatically create a huge wardrobe.

Hot, humid and monsoon trips can add a little extra rotation. Children also get a small extra buffer because clothes may need changing more often.

Why is this useful for trips in India?

India can mean hot plains, humid coasts, monsoon rain, cold hills, snow, cities, safaris and religious places on the same holiday. A single fixed list is usually either too long or not useful enough.

The tool includes practical India-oriented options such as monsoon protection, light modest clothing for religious places, easy footwear, insect protection, child travel items and domestic ID reminders.

What should stay in cabin baggage on a flight?

Power banks and loose or spare lithium batteries should stay in cabin baggage, not checked baggage, and battery terminals should be protected from short circuits.

For normal cabin liquids, containers are generally limited to 100 ml or less. Airline, airport and destination rules can be stricter or can have exceptions for medicine and baby food, so always recheck before travel.

Does the tool check live weather?

No. Choose the climate you expect for this trip. Live destination weather can be added later without making the first version slower or more complicated.

Check the forecast again shortly before you leave, especially for hills, monsoon, snow and outdoor trips.

Can I use this for a family trip?

Yes. Add adults and children separately. Clothing quantities change for children, and the list adds child documents, snacks, wipes, medicines, a spare change and one small comfort item.

The tool does not ask for a child's name, age, ID number or any other sensitive information.

What happens when I tick items?

Your progress is saved in this browser on this device. You can close the page and return later without creating an account.

Use “Uncheck all” when you want to reuse the same list for another packing round.

Can I add my own items?

Yes. Add a custom item to any category and give it a quantity or note. Custom items are included in your saved list, shared list and printable checklist.

How does sharing work?

The share button creates a link with the packing settings, custom items and ticked state after the # sign in the URL. It does not create a new indexable result page.

Anyone who opens that link gets the same list state in their browser.

How do I make a PDF?

Use “Print / Save PDF” at the bottom of the list. The print view is a clean A4 table with your trip summary, packing status, YatraGraphy.com and a safety disclaimer.

On most phones and computers, the system print screen includes a Save as PDF option.
