What does this checker tell me?
It helps you understand whether you can travel with the ticket status you see now, what may happen after the final chart, and what you should do next.
It does not ask for your PNR number and it does not predict the chance of confirmation.
Which status should I use?
Use the latest Current Status from your PNR.
Booking Status tells you what the ticket was when you booked it. Current Status tells you what it is now. If the final chart is not ready, Indian Railways says Current Status can still change.
What happens to a fully waitlisted IRCTC e-ticket?
If every passenger on an IRCTC e-ticket is still WL after chart preparation, IRCTC says those names are dropped from the chart and the passengers are not allowed to board on that fully waitlisted e-ticket.
IRCTC then processes the cancellation and refund electronically. The exact refund can depend on the current Railway refund rules.
What if some passengers are confirmed and some are waiting?
This is different from a PNR where every passenger is waitlisted. IRCTC says names on a partly confirmed or partly RAC and partly waitlisted e-ticket remain in the chart.
A passenger who is still shown as WL should not be treated as having a confirmed seat or berth. Check each passenger's final Current Status before travel.
Can I travel on RAC?
Yes. RAC is valid for travel.
A full berth is not guaranteed. You may have shared accommodation until a full berth becomes available.
What if I have a counter waiting ticket?
A Railway reservation-counter WL ticket is not the same as a fully waitlisted IRCTC e-ticket. It is not automatically cancelled just because it remains WL.
If it is still WL, do not treat it as a reserved seat or berth. Railway guidance says a waitlisted passenger should not travel in a reserved coach on that WL status. Check the latest status and use the proper cancellation or unreserved travel option if needed.
What does VIKALP do?
VIKALP can consider an eligible fully waitlisted passenger for an alternate train after charting.
It does not guarantee a confirmed berth. If an alternate train is allotted, check the updated PNR carefully and travel according to that allotment.
Does GNWL or RLWL tell me if the ticket will confirm?
No. GNWL, RLWL, PQWL, TQWL and other codes tell you the waiting-list or quota type.
This checker does not turn those codes into a fake confirmation percentage. Indian Railways itself says PNR prediction is only indicative and actual confirmation depends on changing factors.
Important things to remember
Always check the latest Current Status and Charting Status shortly before travel. Do not make the decision from an old screenshot or the Booking Status.
